VIP EVENT SERIES: Wining and dining with Andrew McConnel
The hearty aromas of deliciously curated Australian dishes travelled through the Walmer display suite last spring, as part of an immersive culinary experience held by food and lifestyle publication giant, Gourmet Traveller.
Exclusive to a guest list of 20 top tier buyers, all companies hosted by Walmer were treated to a spectacular showcase of food entertainment, prepared by renowned Melbourne chef, Andrew McConnell.
With a fleet of eateries and a wealth of food knowledge, Andrew hit the ground running opening his first restaurant in 2001, and has continued to evolve in the Melbourne ‘foodie’ scene ever since.
The Cutler & Co. chef arranged an intimate four-course dinner, celebrating seasonal Australian produce with each dish, paired with a selection of wines from esteemed Victorian vineyard, Curly Flat.
Dinner was served with exquisite detail and consideration, comprising unique elements of the dining table setting and ornamented in the classic Walmer colour palette.
Gourmet Traveller’s Sarah Oaks led formalities of the night, conducting an apartment walk-through whilst adoring the jazz sounds of trio band, Miles Ahead.
Guests enjoyed French champagne and Walmer’s signature cocktails throughout the evening, whilst Andrew provided expert commentary and an exhibit of the BORA innovative downdraft system in the well-appointed Walmer kitchen.
A sincerely relaxing and uplifting atmosphere across the evening, the Walmer displayed elegant coronet arrangements of Australian natives and florals, in essence of the Walmer brand and style.
Guests concluded the night with a whiskey in hand, relishing in company and conversation with potential neighbours and friends alike – a truly memorable dining experience was fulfilled.
